THE AMENDMENTS TO THE BSPS RULES FOR 2009

Please find listed below Council’s suggestions for amendments to the Rules for 2009.
These suggestions will be discussed and amendments made by Area Chairmen at their next meeting on June 12th, 2008.  The Area Chairmen’s recommendations will then be considered before being finally passed by Council at their next meeting.

Dope Testing Rules. These have been amended as above with immediate effect.

It was agreed to check the legality of the Rule 508 with the solicitor and whilst Council did not want to change the rule would accept the advice given by the solicitor.

Rule 124, 126 127 & 128 – It was agreed to increase the riders age to 8 years in the Leading Rein Show Pony Classes.

Rules 154 and 420 – Animals may not compete in the 153cms and Intermediate WH Classes at the same show in the same section except the RIHS. (subject to confirmation from RIHS)

Rule 265, 268, 269 – It was agreed to increase the riders age to 9 years in the Lead Rein of Show Hunter Type Classes.

Add new Rule for Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden, Ridden and WHP Sections.
A pony that has been de-noviced as a Heritage WHP under EU Member state is no longer eligible to compete as a Novice in BSPS Heritage WHP Classes.

Rule 363 – It was agreed to bring this into line with the plaited Cradle Stakes and increase the age to 11 years.

HERITAGE YOUNG RIDERS SECTION

 

THE BSPS HERITAGE M. and M. YOUNG RIDERS RIDDEN
Registered Ponies not exceeding 128cm.
Riders not to have attained their 12th. birthday before 1st. January in the current year.

 

THE BSPS HERITAGE M. and M. YOUNG RIDERS
Registered Ponies exceeding 128cm but not exceeding 138cm.
Riders not to have attained their 16th. birthday before 1st. January in the current year.

 

THE BSPS HERITAGE M. and M. YOUNG RIDERS RIDDEN
Registered Ponies exceeding 138cm.
Riders not to have attained their 21st. birthday before 1st. January in the current year.

 

THE BSPS HERITAGE M. and M. YOUNG RIDERS RIDDEN
Registered Ponies exceeding 138cm.  
Riders not to have attained their 25th. birthday before 1st. January in the current year.

Associate Classes
It was agreed to change the Associate Classes so that they were judged as normal show classes without a Ride Judge and the marks for Manners and Way of Going will be given in place of the Ride mark.

Rule 452 & 511 – The BSPS Premier League
It was agreed to amend this Rule so that the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed ponies in Mixed Height classes will qualify.

Rule 531 – It was agreed to amend to read the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Executive Member of Council or the Executive Officer.

Rule 90, 98, 104 – It was proposed that the age of the riders of the 148cm Show Pony Class was increased to 18 years – this was not supported.

Rule 185 – A letter had been received asking for the age of the riders to be increased to 12 years – this was not supported.

Rules 168 & 169 & 191 – A vote was taken on whether to change the Novice status so that animals that were denoviced in one section would then be denoviced for all sections but this was not supported.

Rules 135, 137 & 138 – It was agreed not to change the age of the First Ridden riders from 10 years to 11 years.
